December News Letter – From the DC

Hi All

Well, it’s that time again for the newsletter and programme!  And here are some highlights in December and January.

On Sunday 9th December is the Children’s Christmas party, 2 – 4pm at the Three Tuns, Bishops Castle.  All children are welcome but please book with me for this so we know numbers.  If they are not members and you would like them to have a present from Santa, please let me know so we can make sure we have enough.  Also, please bring some food for the buffet.

Also we are having our Christmas dinner for parents at the Inn on the Green on Wednesday 12th December.  It’s a really good time to just meet and chat.  To book please contact Rachel Gee: 01588 680217 / 07814 935765 intatrac@gmail.com

The United Pack Hunt Carol service is coming up on Sunday 16th December at More Church.  As you probably know, the Branch provides the choir and the readers, so I will be approaching people to do readings as soon as I hear from the Hunt.

And on Sunday January 13th it is the Parents’ Open Meeting and our Presentation Evening.  We would love to see as many of you as possible there. This is the opportunity for parents to ask any questions they may have.  Remember we will be presenting the trophies, test certificates and achievement badges which you have worked for during the year.  Please bring a plate of something for buffet too.

I would like to say a well done to everyone who went to Championships you all did well. But a big well done to the Polocrosse teams who did very well and fought some very tough matches, resulting in a win in the Open Juniors for Charlie Evans, Philip and Sally Watney, and another win in the Minis section for Alice Leeke, Jess Clarke and Niamh Morris. Also we also had a 3rd placing in a mixed team of Novice Seniors, and two 5ths in the Novice Juniors and Novice Minis.

Well done to everyone who went to the Race Day at Wolverhampton, which I believe they all enjoyed. When I went to the Area Meeting Ruth mentioned how many members had attended from the United Pack, so I would like to say thank you all that went.

I would just like to mention one particular member of the United Pack and that is Grace Hockley, who is the first member of the United Pack to achieve the Racing Achievement Badge after going to the Race Event held at Ascot. Well done Grace!  I was so proud of you when you showed me your badge at club night.

Now on another note: PC Camp next year will be 5th – 9th August at Berriewood.  To help people with payment we are going to have a pre-payment card scheme where you can give me money when you wish to (how much and when you give me payments is totally up to you) and it will be marked down on a card that you will keep and a card that I will have. If you are interested in doing this with your payments for camp, please contact me, Sally Williams, on 01584861696 / 07807398458 or swill34833@hotmail.co.uk  and I will sort it out for you.

Please remember our fund-raising Ball on February 2nd at Walcot Hall.  You can buy tickets individually or better still get a table of friends together; we can do tables of 10.  It is a really good night to just let your hair down and have fun.  The theme this year will be Roaring 20’s/prohibition. We have chosen this as next year is the 90th Anniversary of The Pony Club.

Finally just a couple of reminders:

Please remember, no Hoodies are allowed when riding.  This is because they are unsafe if you have a fall or are hacking out.  Please try to wear your PC sweatshirts. Hair must be tied up please, preferably with a hairnet.

Any payments must not be given to instructors.  They should be given to me in an envelope with name of child, date and what it’s for please if I am there.  If I am not there send it to me by post or do BACS.  If doing BACS please email me when you make payment, so I know to check for it and can put a note of what it’s for.
